Rain trees and shimmering façades—contrasts that find harmony
Program: Serviced Apartment
Client: Euro creation Co.,Ltd.
Size: 13,300 Sq.m.
Scope: Architectural and Interior Design
Nestled in a quiet residential corner deep within Sukhumvit Road, this upscale serviced apartment is designed to cater to Japanese expatriates and families. The project takes inspiration from a few existing signature mature rain trees, which are preserved and thoughtfully integrated into the architectural layout.
The development consists of two interlocking L-shaped buildings surrounding central courtyards, allowing natural airflow between structures. On the ground floor, visual connectivity extends from the lobby at the front through to the courtyard, lounge, and pool at the rear, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The lobby roof is designed as a garden with shrubs and trees, enhancing the sense of greenery. The residential units are spacious, with layouts and functions tailored specifically for Japanese lifestyles.
The facade is simple, orderly, and refined. Reflective surfaces are strategically used: floor bands feature matte aluminum cladding, while solid walls are patterned with vertical hairline stainless steel sheets. Both materials interact with sunlight differently, creating subtle reflections in yellow, blue, or magenta hues depending on the time of day—a delicate play of light for residents to enjoy.
The rooftop is reserved as a multi-functional space, with trees providing shade and softening the city skyline, offering residents a tranquil retreat above the urban environment.
